Meet The Artist

Some moments don't ask to be remembered. They just happen—a certain slant of light, a smile caught mid-laugh, the quiet second before someone says something that matters—and then they're gone, the way most things are gone, unless someone decides to hold onto them.
I decide to hold onto them.
For over three decades, I've been translating fleeting experiences into something that lasts: a face, a feeling, a place, rendered in acrylic and pastel until the moment stops slipping away and starts staying put. My canvases are bold on purpose—rich color isn't decoration; it's how I tell the truth about how something felt to witness. A quiet afternoon doesn't get painted quiet. It gets painted the way memory actually works: heightened, saturated, more alive in hindsight than it may have even felt in the room.
That's the whole practice, really. Not painting what things look like, but painting what they meant—to the person living them, and to me, watching closely enough to catch it.
I paint people mid-conversation and landscapes mid-breath. I paint the version of a place that only shows up once you've stood in it long enough to feel something. Every piece starts the same way: something moved me, and I couldn't let it disappear without a fight.
The name carries two truths at once. Oklahoma is home—has been for two decades, and it's where my studio, my practice, and my craft all took root. But artistry is bigger than any one zip code. It's every place I've stood, every culture I've encountered, every color palette I've absorbed from a world far wider than the state I call home. Oklartistry is Oklahoma-rooted and globally inspired—a body of work grown from Midwestern soil but shaped by everything I've carried back into it.
I don't paint for a market or a moment of trend. I paint because some things deserve to outlast the day they happened. And when someone commissions a piece, they're not just asking for a painting. They're asking me to catch something before it fades, and give it back to them in color—permanently.
